“Inoubliable! A bientot” (Unforgettable! See you soon!), the French President Nicolas Sarkozy wrote in the visitors’ book in French, on his maiden visit to the mausoleum of love – The Taj Mahal in Agra.
Did the French President, who had put all speculations to rest, feel cozy while writing in visitors’ book or was he thinking of ‘Honey’ Carla Bruni, his model girlfriend?
But his comments in the visitor book has left the speculations alive of his revisit to the Taj, may be with Carla Bruni next time. Though Bruni’s name was there in the official list of visitors but paparazzo’s and journos kept on speculating till the list minute of a sudden arrival of Bruni at the Agra airport.
I asked one of my French journalist friends, Capucine Henry, and she was optimistic about Sarkozy and Bruni visiting Taj Mahal together next time.
“I expect next time he (French President Sarkozy) would like to come with her (Carla Bruni). She is keen to visit Taj … its right to have a beautiful woman in life,” said Capucine Henry, who works with La Full Power Productions in New Delhi.
Brajesh Kumar Singh, Correspondent of Asian News International in Agra, was also anticipating Bruni’s arrival till the last minute. “We have been waiting and speculating that either Carla Bruni has arrived in New Delhi or she is already camping in one of the hotels in Agra.”
“The French President was stunned to see Taj Mahal. When Mr. Sarkozy entered Taj… he said Wow! ; he held the hand of one of the lady photo journalist and got himself photographed with that lady journo,” added Brajesh.
Well! Was Mr. President missing his girlfriend?
Pardon me for putting one side of the story. The lady journo could not be contacted for her comments (?)
Mr. Sarkozy is facing increasing criticism in France for the openness of his relationship with the 40-year-old model. Cameramen across the globe are waiting for the moment to click Sarkoz-Bruni together. This time they could not be spotted together at the monument of Love, but that does not put to rest that Carla Bruni will not accompany her beau next time.
French President’s visit to Taj Mahal has been picked up by media across the globe, for the reason that Carla Bruni did not accompany him. Has Mr. Sarkozy been admired for not showing love in public or it is a criticism for leaving his sweetheart behind ? Or Mr. Sarkozy’s image has reduced to Carla Bruni’s fame ?
